Macungie and the townships around it, southwest of Allentown, have a mix of newer developments and older farmhouses and village homes. The two ask for different approaches: a newer poured foundation that leaks usually has a specific crack or a pipe penetration letting water in, while an old fieldstone foundation tends to weep across the whole wall.
For newer homes, check whether the builder's warranty still covers the foundation before paying for a repair yourself. For older stone foundations, interior drainage plus a vapor barrier on the walls is the usual route, since the stone can't be made watertight. Because this part of the valley sits on limestone, mention any depressions forming in the yard or cracks that appeared suddenly. Those are worth having looked at by someone who can judge whether it's a water problem or a ground problem.
